Tama dived into the intricacies and workings of snare drum design, and surfaced with the S.L.P. line of instruments - the Sound Lab Project series. Each drum features a unique combination of shell material, hoops, lugs, snares, and depth to provide the best sound for a particular genre. The 10mm bubinga shell on this drum is 12 plies thick, giving you a punchy, dry sound with a heavy, low fundamental tone. Low-mass lugs and 2.3mm triple flanged hoops let the shell ring as much as possible, while the outer quilted bubinga outer ply and brushed nickel-colored hardware give a great, earthy look to the instrument. Perfect for alternative, R & B, and similar styles.
